Breast Augmentation With Implants
Our Teardrop Breast Augmentation realize perfect and natural looking breasts through an advanced plastic surgery technique
Breast Augmentation With Implants
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to enhance the size and shape of your breasts through the use of implants. The surgery can create larger, fuller, and more beautiful breasts that enhance the overall appearance of your body and boost your self-confidence.
Our initial consultation will identify the most suitable implant type, shape, size, and incision location for your individual requirements and 3D imaging will allow you to visualize exactly how your breasts will look after surgery.
Breast Augmentation can benefit people:
1. People who are flat-chested
2. Those who are unsatisfied with their breast size and/or shape
3. Those who want to improve the symmetry of their breasts
4. Those who want to correct congenital deformities
5. To boost their confidence and feel more feminine
6. To restore volume that was lost after breastfeeding or pregnancy
FacePlus offers a variety of government-approved FDA implants from leading brands including Mentor, Silimed, and Motiva. The two most popular options for breast enhancement are silicone gel or saline breast implants, both of which are excellent breast augmentation options. Our experienced surgeons will help patients to select the right type and size to achieve their desired look, with many women currently choosing the anatomical (teardrop-shaped) implant due to its natural shape.
There are three incision methods used during the breast augmentation procedure at FacePlus:
1. Periareolar approach (Areola incision)
This minimally invasive approach sees an incision being made on the underside of the areola. The advantage of this method is that it allows for a direct view and handling of the surgical site allowing the surgeon to be careful and precise with implant placement. For patients with a large enough areola (ideally over 2.5cm) that has a sharp border and distinct color contrast, the periareolar scar can be almost imperceptible.
2. Transaxillary approach (Armpit incision)
The transaxillary incision is made under the fold of the armpit so scarring is tucked away from view. A channel leading to the breast is cut from there and an endoscope is used to help create a pocket so the breast implant can be accurately positioned. This procedure is popular with patients who are concerned about scarring and want to keep the surgery a secret.
3. Inframammary fold approach (Breast fold incision)
Inframammary incisions are made in the fold where the lower part of the breast meets the chest wall, meaning the scar is concealed on the underside of the breast. This approach is most commonly used in Western clinics and has an advantage that the surgery takes less time and recovery is quicker than the other approaches.
One of the most important factors to successful breast augmentation surgery is correct and precise placement of the implant. There are three common approaches used at FacePlus:
a. Subglandular insertion (Placement under the breast gland)
This is a popular and commonly used method for people who already have enough existing breast tissue. The implant is placed directly behind the mammary gland in front of the muscle and is considered to be the most straightforward approach with the quickest recovery. This method gives an extremely natural shape and texture, and because the implant is not affected by muscle movement, athletic women may opt for this placement.
b. Submuscular insertion (Placement under the muscle)
Patients with minimal breast tissue tend to opt for this type of placement as the implant sits firmly behind the chest muscle wall. Submuscular implants tend to be the best for mammograms, as they put the implant fully behind the area that needs to be examined.
c. Subfascial insertion (Placement under the connective tissue of the muscle)
The subfascial placement of breast implants has many of the advantages of both the submuscular and subglandular techniques of breast augmentation.
By placing the implant under the fascia (a thin yet durable layer of tissue that covers the muscle) the implant is protected and firmly held in place, meaning it is less likely to rotate. Another benefit of the subfascial approach is that the implants are instantly placed in their correct positions, which reduces downtime
